Earth Day at SDSU

Earth Day 2010, presented by Enviro-Business Society (e3), will spread awareness of sustainable lifestyles by bringing together the SDSU student body and the surrounding community for the 40th anniversary of this annual. As leaders in the green movement, it is vital that you attend this event. This year’s Earth Day theme is "Join the Re3volution," inspired by the roots of the modern day environmental movement and encouraging continued action and awareness.

This year, our annual Earth Day event will be a part of a week-long festival at SDSU called GreenFest. Starting Monday, competitions and events provided to promote sustainable living practices will be held on campus, including a bike breakfast, eco-fashion show, tie-dye station, and speeches from movers and shakers in the sustainability world. These events will culminate on Earth Day, with the coming together of businesses, students, activists, organizations, and more. The following night, there will be a spectacular festival celebration with a concert and local food options. To end the week off with a bang will be the Cultivating Food Justice Conference, a go-to event for anyone looking to reach sustainability and equity in our food system.

The event will have many components:

  • Farmers' Market :: local farmers and businesses selling their produce and food goods
  • Business Fair :: sustainable businesses and organizations will be available for consumer networking and professional opportunities
  • Eco-Action Center :: information on petitions and current issues in the region will be addressed and tackled
