I ♥ Slutty Paper
WHAT IT IS:
We want to use the university's power of purse to say NO to virgin paper and the clear-cutting of forests the world round. Although it may seem like a small thing to focus on, making the switch to 'slutty' (a.k.a. post-consumed) paper can have a huge impact. In fact, paper manufacturing is the largest industrial user of water per pound of finished product and the 3rd largest consumer of fossil fuels in the WORLD. We are currently working on a resolution to pass through the College of Arts & Letters and AS, but in order to make a compelling argument, we need to know the general quantity and cost of the paper we are buying.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
- Help us fine tune the resolution
-
Read through the resolution draft -- HERE
-
Look over past resolutions for examples -- Bike Lane Resolution, LEED Platinum Resolution
